Yvonne’s Story

Yvonne is retired from the Corporate World. A mom, wife, grandmother, and friend. She has traveled the world, nearly losing her life to a massive heart attack caused by the demands of her job. She has suffered heartache and loss and in so doing, found peace and happiness in her garden, writing, and photography.

Yvonne is happily married and has three adult children, one with autism and intellectual disabilities, two grandchildren, and two cats. She is a Reiki Master, Birthing Seeds of Light practitioner, and an avid advocate for individuals with disabilities. She is passionate about human and animal rights and fighting for democracy.

Yvonne is a native Californian, of Portuguese descent, born and raised in the San Joaquin Valley. She has lived in Florida, New York, and France. She currently resides in Northern California tending her garden and its inhabitants.

Yvonne is in the process of writing her forthcoming memoir, “You Think You Know Me”. An exploration of a family whose roots were firmly planted in lies. She struggled to understand her biological family’s dysfunction while repeatedly engaging in toxic relationships and wondering where she fits into the world.

After years of asking questions and researching her ancestry, she finds the answers to the secrets her family kept hidden for decades. The secrets they took to their graves.
